Today is the final day for people to ensure they are registered to vote in the upcoming referendums.

The list of voters can be viewed at checktheregister.ie.

The country will have its say on the marriage and presidential age referendums two weeks from Friday.

Spokesperson for the Referendum Commission, Mark Breathnach, has this advice for anyone not on the list so far.

Meanwhile, the Tánaiste Joan Burton has said she was pleasantly surprised to find older people she has spoken to are in favour of the same-sex marriage referendum passing.

She also told Newstalk Breakfast that while civil partnership goes some way for couples, it is not enough.
