The National Bus and Railworkers Union says it'll be attending talks today in 'resolution mode'.

Discussions are planned at the Labour Relations Commission as part of the drive to avert another round of strike action on bus services next Friday and Saturday.

Siptu will also attend the negotiations in Dublin this afternoon.

Dermot O'Leary of the NRBU says he's willing to work on the dispute, which centres on 10 per cent of routes being put out to tender:

When unions held a 48-hour strike earlier this month, over one million people were affected. The next strike is set to take place on Friday May 15th and Saturday May 16th.

The dispute centres on the Government and National Transport Authorities' plans to privatise 10% of the two companies' routes.

Business group Chambers Ireland has welcomed the initiative by the Labour Relations Commission. It said a speedy resolution is in the interests of consumers and the business community.
