How would you like to lead Newstalk's fast-growing and fast-paced Breakfast team?
Newstalk Breakfast is looking for a new producer to produce the programme to a high professional standard, with quality content that is appropriate to the editorial values of both the programme and the station.
Key tasks
- Lead and manage the production team
- Produce live in studio
- Be up to speed on Irish and international news and current affairs
- Read news and decide on news lines
- Work well under pressure and make fast decisions
- Develop and maintain relationship with presenters
- Book guests and write briefs
- Edit audio
- Understand libel and media law
- Manage the team roster
- Manage the show’s budget
- Ensure show complies with BAI legislation
- Meet JNLR targets as set by management
- Reporting to the station editor
Qualifications / Experience
- Excellent Radio production skills
- A clear vision for Newstalk Breakfast
- An ability to generate and to evaluate quality radio
- Experience under pressure in the radio studio
- Preferred candidates should possess a college degree within radio broadcasting, media production or a related field
- Two years experience producing news and current affairs radio
