Earlier today, Newstalk 106-108fm hosted an exclusive performance with Commander Chris Hadfield and The Chieftains – their first collaboration here on Earth following their intergalactic duet last March.
Speaking at the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin, Cmdr Chris Hadfield told Newstalk Breakfast's Chris Donoghue he was honoured by the occasion:
“One of the greatest feelings I have in life is making music with friends. There is a shared creation of it that I get through no other activity - it’s beyond language”.

The Chieftains and Cmdr Hadfield were reunited to perform a rendition of Moondance, having first played the song while the Canadian astronaut was stationed on the ISS Spacecraft earlier in the year.
Cmdr Hadfield captured the hearts and minds of Irish people during his mission last year, tweeting photographs of Ireland from space. He also had plenty of tips on living in space for his fans.
Newstalk Breakfast conducted a live public interview with the Canadian astronaut in front of over 160 lucky listeners at the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin.
The interview will be broadcast next Monday, December 16th at 9am on Newstalk Breakfast.
