It’s consider one of the most significant political decisions in modern Irish history and new film The Guarantee recreates the drama surrounding the Irish government’s decision to secure the country’s entire domestic banking system in 2008.
Starring Peter Coonan, David Murray and Orla Fitzgerald, the trailer below shows the late Finance Minister Brian Lenihan (played by Murray) being interviewed at a press conference following the pivotal decision – the clip also features a cameo from Newstalk Breakfast presenter Chris Donoghue who plays the role of 'dogged reporter'.
