Ryanair yesterday announced it would bring an extra one million passengers through Ireland on the back of the budget announcement that the three euro travel tax on air passengers would be eradicated. The airline projects 1,000 new jobs and is meeting with representatives from Shannon, Cork, Dublin, Knock and Kerry airports this week.
This came as the VAT rate for the hospitality sector was maintained at 9% and eight million euro was pledged to the Atlantic Way Tourism Route.
