Ivan doesn’t believe many surveys, but he does believe those in the 60s are the new 20s – and he can’t wait to reach the landmark himself. According to a survey in the Irish Mirror that finds pensioners are living the dream more than those in their 20s – with more socialising, drinking and exercising – meaning they’re healthier, fitter and happier than their younger counterparts. 

Tunisia reaction continues to dominate the front pages, with the reaction to the massacre across the broadsheets and tabloids, as the stories of the horrific attack begin to emerge, including the story of the three Irish people killed in the attack.

The Irish Examiner finds cinema ticket sales in Ireland are falling (although they still remain strong by international standards), and one of the main reasons is that people aren’t going to the cinema for first dates any more. Chris said he finds the cinema an odd place for a first date, with all that silence and staring ahead limiting interaction. Ivan though felt it was still a suitable venue for testing for the potential for love, saying: “you’re kind of acclimatising to each other - and then in the back row...”.
