The Curtis Cup has become the latest golf event to be postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The United States were due to defend the trophy against Great Britain & Ireland at Conwy in North Wales from June 12-14.
However, continued fears regarding the coronavirus have seen the amateur competition put back to 2021 following agreement between the R&A and the USGA.
The golf calendar, male and female, amateur and professional is littered with postponed and cancelled tournaments with tour chiefs keen to sandwich as many in to later in the year as possible.
The R&A have also confirmed that June's Amateur Championship at Royal Birkdale, as well as the Women's Amateur Championship set for Kilmarnock the same month, have both been rescheduled for the week commencing August 24.
Mallow's James Sugrue won last year's Amateur Championship at Portmarnock.
Those re-fixed dates are dependent on the current situation improving enough for golf to resume.
The R&A are yet to make a decision on this year's Open Championship at Royal St. George's but say, "We continue to review our 2020 professional championships and the remainder of our domestic amateur season."
Duncan Weir is the executive director of Golf Development and Amateur Championships at The R&A and says of the decision to move the Curtis Cup, "We have a responsibility to protect the health and well-being of the players and everyone involved in our events so it is the right course of action to take.
"We are grateful to all of the venues for their continuing support in these challenging circumstances and will update everyone involved with our plans."
