Anyone who has bought or sold a house in this country will know that it can be a time-consuming, messy and sometimes expensive process. At the moment only solicitors can handle conveyancing. And now there is a major new report out from the legal services regulatory authority which aims at boosting price transparency among solicitors and moving towards full digitalisation of conveyancing. But the report stops short of recommending a distinct and separate profession of conveyancing – which is the case already in the UK.
