The price of newly built houses is rising far faster than those of older homes.  That’s due to soaring input and materials costs as well as land prices.  The Society of Chartered Surveyors wants a longer-term fix in the budget to drive down the prices of new homes.  It also hates the idea of a concrete levy  Speaking to Joe this morning was Kevin Hollingsworth, Vice President of the SCSI .
