Long before it was technologically feasible, Star Trek was portraying a utopian future where any question could be immediately and accurately answered by the all seeing, all knowing computer.

Today that idea is closer to reality than any of the show’s writers could have foreseen. But is it really a good thing? How will one-shot answers affect how we absorb information and could this technology damage the depth of understanding we have of the world?
