More than 1,000 Irish scientists have today called on the Government to take actions to completely suppress the virus, by getting the number of new cases to zero as soon as possible, and keep them there. The scientists acknowledge the huge impact already on the economy but suggest measures should now be deployed to “crush” the virus across the island, over a period of weeks, not months. Ciara chats to Prof Gerry Killeen, AXA Research Chair in Applied Pathogen Ecology, University College Cork & hears from listeners
