Last year saw record numbers of motorists arrested for drug-driving.
In the first nine months of 2019, Gardai stopped 906 drivers under the influence of drugs - three times as many as the same period in 2018.
Figures reveal that from January to September last year, Gardai stopped 906 drivers under the influence of drugs. This is almost a three-fold increase on the same period in 2018 when 332 drivers were arrested for the same offence.
So why are people in this day and age still driving under the influence of drink or drugs? Susan Keogh heard the opinions of a number of different callers on the subject?
