Around this time of year, when a lot of young people are preparing to leave home for the first time and head off to college – there's a lot of talk of preparing them with certain life skills, like how to cook an egg or budget their money

But maybe some deeper preparation is necessary? There are many who struggle with the transition from family to independent life

And with all the pressure to view it as a welcome escape from childhood and parental control, not everyone is willing to open up about their struggles
