Listener email: Ciara, my husband and I are having problems with communication and conflict resolution. We usually get on quite well but I have found Covid 19 and all the restrictions and changes at home increased pressure on me. I think I am more touchy than normal. However we have had this issue for a long time. We are together 11 yrs and have 2 small kids. When we fight we could go days without talking to each other. We don't fight often but that is probably partly due to us both desperately wanting to avoid those days of silence. I don't want my children to grow up in house like that and I don't want me and my husband hurting each other - it can feel physically painful when the silent treatment kicks in but we can't seem to resolves things....as the days pass the feelings just dissipate and we go on as normal. Counselling services seem to be suspended- any advice? We both want to do counselling because we know there are probably only two outcomes here and we don't want to end things....we are nowhere near that.'
