Listener email - 'This week we got news my husband’s been accepted for a big job promotion, and a pay rise to match. He’s over the moon, it really is an achievement as the competition for the role was high. With the promotion we’d have to move to the US (when things with Covid settle a bit more) I feel sick at the thought of doing this. I’m leaving all my family, friends and support systems. We have children, and though they’re young I’m worried about the impact the move would have on them. I know it’s a great move for the family in many ways, financial etc but I wonder is it worth it uprooting the family completely. We’re not short of money and have a nice home and security in Ireland. I know career progression is important for my husband, but what about the rest of us? Having this conversation is difficult with him as he doesn’t have the same concerns I do. Have any of your listeners gone through something like this and how did they deal with it?' Ciara Doherty hears from listeners
