Lunchtime Live Looks At The Influence Of The #MeToo Movement

We are continuing with Newstalk's reflection of the 20 most influential moments of the last 20 years, and today we will be looking at the social movement which sky rocked on social media platforms across the world- #MeToo.

A widespread surge of allegations of sexual abuse/harassment, particular in the work place, incriminating many powerful public figures followed after allegations were made against Harvey Weinstein in October 2017.

The empowerment movement marked a break from the silence, shame and fear which had kept many women from speaking up sooner.

Joining Andrea on Lunchtime Live was joined by Dr Caroline West to discuss this issue.
