Users of long term prescription medication say they feel like their lives are being messed with amid the current medicine shortages. There are currently 216 medicines running low or out of stock in Ireland. They include common over-the-counter remedies like dry cough syrups, sore throats sprays and lozenges. But they also stretch to long term medication that people rely on on a regular basis.
