New laws which will outlaw the promotion of misinformation around cancer treatment mean that people who peddle so called ‘miracle’ cures could face penalties of up to €1 million.

This comes as a new report from the National Cancer Registry says that cancer rates in Ireland could double by 2045 if current rates continue.

Ciara is joined by Fine Gael’s Kate O’Connell who is behind the private member’s bill looking to combat those who advertise fake or unregulated treatments for cancer.
