We all know that a little help goes a long way…..especially when it comes to supporting our children’s hospitals
This week on Newstalk, we’ve teamed up with Tesco who, through their charity partnership, have provided over 330 pieces of vital medical equipment for the patients of Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street over the last six years.
We’ve been hearing extraordinary first-hand accounts from the children, and their families, who have overcome serious disease and injury with the support and care received at Temple Street.
Today on the show Andrea was joined by Sharron, who is the mother of Amy. Amy was transferred to CHI at Temple Street in a critical condition in 2019, following a boating accident with her rowing club.
After being in a coma, Amy spent time in ICU and had a long road to recovery in Temple Street’s top flat, during which her mum was so thankful for the support she received from the staff.
Amy has since made great strides in her recovery that is still ongoing.
Currently Amy is unable to walk with a stick and is back at school, hanging out with friends and loving life.
