The Open Seasons Order allowing the hunting of birds begins today, the first of September.  

Minister of State and Heritage Malcolm Noonan has promised a review of bird hunting practices in Ireland in light of their impact of their biodiversity.  

But, is it time that we considered a ban on hunting?
