Could Ireland become a green energy superpower?

The German government is keen for Ireland to help supply hydrogen to fuel their manufacturing industries.

How would it all work? Existing gas pipelines between Ireland and Scotland could be repurposed to fulfil this requirement of ‘green energy’.
