A school in London has announced that they are dropping the use of ‘Miss’ and ‘Sir’ as ways for the pupils to address their teachers, due to the ‘deeply unequal’ nature of the terms. Are these traditional titles contributing to a misogynistic narrative? The difference between Miss, Ms and Mrs can be a confusing idea to tackle in itself, but why do we need these titles in the first place?
