This week, a tweet from the Gardai about a dog called Jack the Lad went viral.
Jack was out walking with his owner Pat Brennan in Portalington, when Pat took a tumble into a steep ditch.
The one year old dog stayed by his owner’s side and alerted the emergency services of his location.
