Sinn Féin David Cullinane has defended his use of the phrase 'Up the Ra' at an election celebration party.

The re-elected TD was recorded shoutung 'Up the Ra' in a pub in Waterford. Cullinane says the phrase is in the context of remembering those during the hunger strikes of the 1980s. He denies its a reference to the general election success.
