To the best of our scientific knowledge, 70% of our universe is made up of a mysterious force we call ‘Dark Energy’.
Since its discovery in the 1990s, it has been assumed that this accelerating force would continue to expand the universe until everything was so far apart that the whole thing would come to a very cold, and very quiet end.
However, new findings have called all of that into question.
