The Scottish Football Association is finalising plans to ban children under the age of 12 from heading the ball.
This follows a study by the University of Glasgow, published in October, which found that former professional footballers are three and a half times more likely to suffer from dementia and other serious neurological diseases.
So, how concerning is the issue of head injuries in football, and is this ban something we should replicate here in Ireland?
