‘Gut-wrenching that was how Environment Minister Eamon Ryan described the decision at Cop26 to water down commitments on the phasing out of fossil fuels   A global agreement to keep temperature rises below 1.5 degrees was reached but saw a commitment to “phase out” the use of coal reduced to a promise to “phase down” the fuel, following interventions by China and India.  Environment activist and Guardian columnist, George Monbiot joined us this morning with a reaction to the deal that was hammered out in the end.
