Hundreds of dog attacks on humans and other animals have been reported to councils in the past five years, according to new figures obtained by the Irish Independent. The attacks involved a range of breeds – including those not on the restricted-breed list, such as terriers, German Shepards, Jack Russel's, Collies and Bull Mastiffs.

Gillian Bird, Head of Education and media, DSPCA  spoke to Newstalk Breakfast with a reaction to these figures.
