The cost of an average new car would increase by €1,000 under a proposed overhaul of VRT in the upcoming Budget.  The idea is that buyers of new cars with ‘average’ or ‘above average’ emissions should pay more tax. For more on this, we were joined by Sean Duke, Science and Technology Journalist.
