Ireland's Retail Sector Set To Be Closed Until March

A further 51 deaths have been announced due to Coronavirus while another 2,608 new cases of the virus have been confirmed. It comes as NPHET warn that up to 1,000 people could die from the virus in January. For more we were joined by Prof Sam McConkey, Infectious Disease Specialist at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland .

Meanwhile EU leaders are understood to be considering a ban on non-essential travel within the EU bloc.  It comes as the chief medical officer Tony Holohan warned the Pre-travel PCR test ‘is not sufficiently robust system for prevention of disease importation’  Roisin Shortall Co-Leader of the Social Democrats joined us with reaction.
