Cork city centre is fighting back as the shopping capital, an economist thinks a new outlet centre should not be built outside the city but right in the middle of it. There is worry a new "Kildare Village" style centre in Carrigtwohill in East Cork could lead to displacement and kill the character of Cork city centre.
