Motor Insurance Clams Rose 65% In Last Ten Years

A major new report from the Central Bank into Ireland’s motor insurance industry has found that the average cost of a claim rose 65% in the past ten years. The report also found the average earned premium per policy rose 35% between 2009 and 2019 although they did fall 4% in the final year of this period.  For reaction we hard from Pearse Doherty Sinn Fein’s spokesperson for Finance and Donegal TDand Stuart Gilhooly Solicitor and Former President of the Law Society of Ireland.
