Now celebrations are continuing in West Cork after Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy struck gold for Ireland in rowing in Tokyo last week.

Shane spoke to Violet Hayes Chairperson of Skibbereen Rowing Club on the pride the club feel for their athletes.

That was not the only medal for Skibbereen last week as Emily Hegarty won bronze as part of the women’s four.

Violet mentioned the surge in interest in the club now that it has upped its medal count.
