Irish Rail staff are facing threats of violence, sexual assault and open drug use on an almost daily basis, according to the NBRU.

Rail staff are to vote on industrial action over lack of protection against ‘thuggery’ on trains. Members of the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) say authorities must act to protect rail workers from “anti-social behaviour and downright thuggery which has now gone well beyond a tipping point”.  For more on this, we spoke to Dermot O’Leary, General Secretary of the National Bus and Rail Union.
