Russia’s military forces have kept up their punishing campaign to capture Ukraine’s capital with fighting and artillery fire in Kyiv’s suburbs. It comes after an airstrike on a military base near the Polish border brought the war close to Nato’s doorstep. 

James Waterhouse is the BBC’s Kyiv correspondent and James spoke to Ciara this morning to explain how the situation was Kyiv overnight.
