Vaccine passes and compulsory mask-wearing could be extended beyond February after Taoiseach Micheál Martin got approval to create a new piece of legislation. The controversial Covid-19 emergency powers were due to expire on February 9, 2022. But now a single piece of legislation will give the Government the power to continue the measures if required. Peadar Tóibin Aontú leader and TD for Meath West and Emer Higgins Fine Gael TD debated with Ciara this morning.
