The University of Limerick has outlined plans to develop a new economic zone as part of a joint venture with Clare County Council. The University claims it could create up to 3,500 jobs with land used for education, research, living, working, and recreational spaces. But concerns are being raised that such a large development over the Clare border will be at the detriment of Limerick city centre. To discuss this further Shane was joined on the show this morning by UL President Professor Kerstin Mey and also Independent Councillor for Limerick Emmett O’Brien.
