A ban on alcohol advertising within 200 metres of a school, creche or a local authority playground is coming into effect from today.

The provisions are among 23 sections of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act, which was passed by the Oireachtas after taking almost three years going through the Seanad and the Dáil.

Patricia Callan of Alcohol Beverage Federation of Ireland and Head of Communications and Advocacy at Alcohol Action Ireland, Eunan McKinney joined Mark Cagney on this evening's edition of the Hard Shoulder to discuss.
