Extinction Rebellion protesters have been trying to shut down Westminster as part of a fortnight of planned disruption to demand urgent action to tackle climate change.

Protesters are calling on the government to declare a climate and ecological emergency, to act immediately to halt wildlife loss, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2025.

George Monbiot is a columnist with the Guardian, author and environmental activist, and he told Ivan why he believes Extinction Rebellion is a worthy cause.
