A row is brewing after the parents of two North Dublin Catholic primary school students were sent letters saying a proposed change to patronage would mean children could not celebrate Christmas, St Patrick's Day and Shrove Tuesday.

This is as there are plans for one of eight schools in the Portmarnock-Malahide-Kinsealy area of north Dublin to change patronage.

Paul Rowe, CEO of Educate Together, told Ivan why there needn't be any conflict with the Catholic Church.
