Environmental journalist John Gibbons reckons we need to get serious about doing what's necessary to combat climate change.

It's on a week that has seen record breaking temperatures across Europe.

Paris saw temperatures of 42.6 degrees celsius, the Netherlands hit just over 40 degrees, and London hit 38.1 - just .4 degrees short of it’s all-time record.

While temperatures have dipped a little, the effects are still being felt.

Flights have even been delayed as its been seen as unsafe to fly into certain European airports.
