The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Richard Bruton has announced funding to the tune of €3m to support communities around the country, in an effort to tackle illegal dumping.

Dublin, Wicklow, Cork and many other areas in Ireland have been the subject of illegal dumping.

Minister Bruton joined Ivan to discuss this.

Meanwhile the Minister said his Cabinet colleague Finian McGrath had made a 'mistake' with his comments about political policing, and he wouldn't be calling for McGrath's head.

He also would not confirm whether the National Broadband Plan has been officially signed off, maintaining that there was work still to be done.
