The owners of the Connemara Gateway Hotel in Oughterard, Co Galway have pulled out of a deal to locate a direct provision centre at the former hotel. Locals had been protesting against the plans for almost three weeks.

Reporter Barry Whyte who is in the West Galway town spoke to Mark Cagney on this evenings Hard Shoulder.
