Mark Kirwan is from Tipperary, but he's been a police officer in Washington since he moved there.

He was the lead escort in the cavalcade with President George Bush and his wife Laura at the Inauguration.

He described the friendly greeting from the former President, and the fist-bump from Obama, which he said isn't as good as getting it from the Munster rugby team or the Tipperary hurling team!
