There are record levels of respiratory syncytial (sin-seet-ee-al) virus (RSV) being recorded across the country. RSV mainly affects babies and is putting children’s hospitals under huge pressure.
Almost 1,000 cases of RSV were recorded last week, and almost 370 patients, most of them children, were hospitalised.
