It was revealed this week that the Government has proposed setting up a special committee to examine the area of assisted suicide over the next 12 months.
The proposal is in response to the Dying With Dignity Bill that is being introduced by People Before Profit TD Gino Kenny.
The Bill is due to be debated in the Dáil on Thursday.
Kenny has said that it is an unacceptable attempt to bury the bill, and he has again called for the Government to give a free vote.
Someone who supports the Bill is Gail O’Rorke, who was found not guilty of assisting the suicide of her friend Bernadette Forde. She spoke to Kieran on Wednesday's edition of The Hard Shoulder.
