Irish researchers at Trinity College Dublin have discovered that huge amounts of data is collected by Google when you use the Google message and phone call apps on Android phones. Data being collected includes the phone numbers, snapshot of texts and unique android ID's.
Google say they’re going to update the app privacy options to a toggle, where users have an option to have it on or off, for data that was not “essential."
