Ireland spends the least amount of money on defence in Europe as a percentage of our GDP.

New figures from Eurostat show we are bottom of the EU defence spending table out of 27 member States.

Can we afford for this to continue?

Senator Gerard Craughwell told Ivan why this absolutely cannot go on, and why there needs to be a total re-think on how money is spent on defence in this country.
