The Berlin Wall was torn down 30 years ago tomorrow.

Ivan was delighted to be joined on this evening's edition of the Hard Shoulder by John Simpson, World Affairs Editor for BBC News, who is also the BBC’s longest serving foreign correspondent.

His documentary “The Fall of the Berlin Wall” aired yesterday.

He was in Warsaw with Chancellor Helmut Kohl when the Wall came down, and travelled for 25 hours the next day to get to where the Wall had stood.
